ImPack Implementation Packages

Organizational staffs, structures and cultures differ. The goals are the same - improve the bottom line. Each manufacturing site or facility faces different challenges that require different solutions depending on their relative position on the implementation e-curve. At each level and step of collaborative process implementation, many decisions are required that may necessitate changes in process, interactions, responsibilities and mindset.

AMT has developed a series of e-Manufacturing /Business Collaborative Process Implementation Packages (ImPack). Each implementation package addresses a level and/or step involved in attaining a totally integrated collaborative environrment.

Each implementation package includes process configuration design, project planning, implementation program management, and change management.

ImPack A_udit  is an audit of existing systems and processes to determine where your company is on the implementation e-curve. Technology gaps and information blind spots are identified.

ImPack 1_eng   deals with product design collaborative interactions. This sets the foundation for downstream integration.

ImPack 2_CAE-CAM focuses on data standardization and a smooth, well-defined data flow between Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). These elements are essential for an efficient NPI and EC process. The deployment and proper utilization of CAM tools can reduce product documentation and programming times as much as 85% and reduce NPI cycle times by 30-40%.

ImPack 3 DataM   addresses eliminating data redundancy and establishing a controlled centralized depository for product and process data. Data access and electronic release approvals are established. This centralized integration allows elements of the enterprise to interact efficiently.

ImPack 4 Paperless establishes a near paperless environment on the manufacturing floor by implementing a dynamic electronic documentation system.

ImPack 5_DataC implements an integrated data collection system on the shop floor. Tracking work-in-process and collecting operational and yield data provides the ability to generate real time business and operational metrics.

ImPack 6 _Portal uses portal technology to give the extended enterprise and web-based customers access to manufacturing and product information.
